Before proceeding with the application of your new wall sticker we ask you to carefully read this WARNING:
When you receive the wall sticker, pull it out of the shipping box even if you don't intend to apply it immediately. If it remains rolled up for too long the adhesive can deform and may become no longer be applicable. Try to keep it laying on a flat surface. (We suggest placing books on the corners to hold it down).
Removal of the wall sticker: For questions regarding the duration and other technical issues, please go to the FAQ section on www.sticasa.com and www.stikid.com. The materials used in our sticker products are designed to allow for them to be removed without leaving adhesive residues on the surface and without damaging the surface to which it was applied. On painted surfaces, the removal must always be done slowly and if it is possible by heating the surface of the wall sticker with a hair dryer (heat will loose up the glue and should not cause any the detachment of the paint underneath). However, in limited cases, it is possible that the underlying layer of paint may remain attached to the wall sticker when it is removed. STICASA cannot guarantee that this will not occur. If you have doubts about comprimising the paint on your wall, we suggest testing the surface by applying a small piece of duct or packaging tape to your wall. Remove it again after a half an hour. If this process does not any remove any paint, the application of wall sticker should not create problems.
The wall sticker is not a toy: it is not edible and must not be left within reach of small children before it's installed.
1.Remove wall sticker from the shipping box and roll it out so it remains flat for a few minutes. You may put a couple books on top so that it stays flat. Wall sticker consists of three layers: Backing Paper (thick paper on one side of the wall sticker), the wall sticker (colored shaped vinyl), and Application Tape (matte semi transparent paper covering the wall sticker on the front).
2. Place the wall sticker on a smooth surface, such as a kitchen counter or floor. Begin to scratch the application tool (the rubber palette that came with your order) over the complete wall sticker. This will allow the Application Tape to bond to the vinyl sticker.
3. Decide where to apply the Wall Sticker (on surfaces which are not completely smooth, the wall sticker might not stick properly). Make small marks with a pencil in order to fix the position. To get it straight you can use a level (available for free as an iphone app if you do not own one- iHandy Level). Dust the application area with a wet cloth and let the area dry before applying the sticker.
4. Begin separating the application tape form the backing paper. Start from the top of the wall sticker. When you reach the wall sticker, make sure that it remains stuck to the application tape and not to the backing paper. Once you have separated only a few inches, you should attach the applilcation tape to the wall, using a level if possible, so that the wall sticker will hang from the wall while you keep on separating the two layers.
5. Slowly pull down the backing paper and apply the sticker to the wall. If portions of the vinyl wall sticker happen to remain on the backing paper, stop, and rub the application tool on the spot until it properly separates and then continue with the application.
6. Once the backing paper is completely removed, rub the Wall Sticker's surface with the application tool from the inside of the sticker to the outside - this process will remove air bubbles.
7. Slowly remove the Application Tape starting from a corner and dragging it gently down and away from the wall to unveil your new art!
